Red-Eye Rounds

Affordable Housing
Wednesday, June 24
7:15 - 8:15 a.m.

Despite serving an increasingly frail senior population, housing providers are experiencing greater budgetary scrutiny, ever changing HUD regulations and difficulty securing funding for much needed service coordinators. Join housing peers and PANPHA advocacy staff in a casual, informal setting to discuss these and other critical affordable housing issues.

Faculty: Colleen Bloom, Associate Director for Housing Operations, AAHSA, Washington, DC; Mark Miller, Regulatory Affairs Manager, PANPHA, Mechanicsburg, PA

Social Accountability
Friday, June 26
7:15 – 8:15 a.m.

Engage in a lively discussion with PANPHA staff and aging services providers to understand the importance of demonstrating tangible community benefit and charitable care as nonprofit organizations find their tax exemptions challenged. During this morning session, we will hear from several PANPHA members who have experienced tax exemption challenges firsthand, and highlight how successful social accountability also translates into a sustainable mission and stronger political capital to advocate PANPHA positions. Don’t miss what promises to be a dynamic and increasingly important discussion for PANPHA members to consider.

Faculty: Russ McDaid, VP, Public Policy, PANPHA, Mechanicsburg, PA
